Installation and Use:

1. Extract HDHRQamMapper.exe to your HDHomeRun directory. (Default is "c:\program files\Silicondust\HDHomeRun")

2. Run HDHRQamMapper.exe.

3. Click the "Discover" button if your device is not detected.

4. Select your mode (Media Portal users, use GB-PVR Mode).Select your tuner number and QAM tuning type (OTA will be auto-detected).

5. Select "Full Scan" or "File Import". (Default is "Import")

6. Edit the Description column to anything you like. For MCE Mode, the description is used for the callsign and userAssignedName fields in atscprefs.xml. Enter a physical and/or virtual channel if you want to override automatic assignment. Physical and virtual channels will be automatically assigned for enabled channels without entries.

Media Center users: Select the guide channel you wish to map from the dropdown list and right click the description of the scanned channel. This will add the appropriate callsign. You still have to "enable" the channel.

7. Entries are only added to the hdhomerun_bda.remap if they are enabled.

8. "Save" will auto assign physical and virtual channel information to all enabled channels that don't have an entry in these fields. It then saves a .csv file as "DeviceID-TunerNumber.csv". If none of the channels listed as 8vsb (OTA), it will write the hdhomerun_bda.remap file to c:\. For MCE Mode, it will write an atscprefs.xml for both OTA and QAM. You will have to copy it to the proper location.
After saving and copying your atscprefs.xml, start Media Center and go to "Settings -> TV -> Add Missing Channels" and delete "DELETE-DT" entry.

Notes:

Full scans can take as long as 15 minutes.

Files are saved to a directory called "QamMapper" located in your Documents folder. The only exceptions are the remap file (saved to c:\) and the atscprefs.xml if the OverwriteAtscPrefs flag is enabled (see below).

Remap files created in MCE Mode are compatible with GB-PVR and Media Portal. Remap files created in GB-PVR Mode are NOT compatible with Media Center.

Virtual channels can be entered in dotted or dashed notation (eg: 34.1 or 34-1).

On full scans and scan file imports, any channel that has a description beginning with a valid virtual number will be auto assigned that virtual channel and also auto assign the first available physical channel (for OTA channels, physical channel is the true physical channel). You can clear the automatic assignments by deleting them or with the "Clear All..." buttons.

When performing a full scan, the scan window is hidden. If you would like it to be displayed, change the registry key HKLM\Software\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\QamMapper\ScanWindowVisible to True. You must open and close the QamMapper program at least once for the key to be created.

The atscprefs.xml can be directly written to the EPG\prefs directory so that no copying is needed. If you would like it to do this, change the registry key HKLM\Software\Silicondust\HDHomeRun\QamMapper\OverwriteAtscPrefs to True. You must open and close the QamMapper program at least once for the key to be created.

Vista Notes:

If the program is not "Run as Administrator", the remap file will be saved to the "QamMapper" folder. You will have to copy it to c:\
